haochi at the zoo

I still remember the comment that Christian left on "Nineteen", "I wouldn't be too excited about turning 20... That's half-way to 40."

I can't believe it's another year already, it seemed so quick. Christian's prophecy has been fulfilled; for I was not too excited to turn 20 in the days coming up to my birthday. I was not ready to give up my "teen"-title, even as it might have became meaningless after my 18th, or even 17th birthday.

Today is my birthday, it has been a tradition for me to write a blog post here every year on this day. If you have been reading this blog long enough, you probably have noticed that I hadn't been enthusiastic about such occasion. This year is even worse, coupling with my quarter-life crisis.

20 is just a number

But that all went away last night, when I received a message from Rocky wishing me a happy birthday. The message was short, but it helped to ease a lot of anxiety I had about turning 20. Twenty is just a number.

I would like to thanks to everyone who wished me happy birthday, and thanks to Christina for taking me to the zoo today. :)

And yes, Christian, I am half way to 40, but as Carey said last year, it's "just another step." Plus, you will be there in a few months as well. :p (FYI, you have been an amazing friend to me these last few years.) I am so glad to have all my awesome friends IRL and online. :D
